The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) provides innovative workplace solutions, products and services for Federal agencies to foster an effectively functioning, sustainable, and transparent government for the American people. GSA’s Public Buildings Service designs, constructs, manages and leases work space and also disposes of surplus government real property holdings. GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service provides contractual solutions to Federal agencies. GSA has a history of leadership in energy conservation, sustainable building design, and sourcing environmentally-preferable products and services.

Fort Worth, TX - Regional Office Space Redesign/ Reconfiguration of existing space

GSA initiated three projects in the Fritz G. Lanham Federal Building to reduce costs, improve space utilization, and enhance employee performance. These projects will free up space on various floors for future occupancy by other federal tenants. The designs support a wide-range of workplace settings including individual workstations, quiet rooms, huddle rooms, open-plan team spaces, and other collaborative areas. All individual/private offices were eliminated or converted into shared spaces for collaborative and or focus work.

New York, NY - Regional Office Consolidation

GSA plans to relocate its Northeast and Caribbean Regional Office from the Jacob Javits federal building to the World Trade Center. GSA will occupy significantly less space by leveraging the use of mobile technologies, reducing storage needs through digitization, and supporting new ways of working. GSA's goal is to create a highly utilized, open-plan, activity-based workplace that can accommodate collaborative and focus work in a variety of settings.

Kansas City, MO - Regional Office Consolidation

GSA plans to relocate the Heartland Regional Office from the Bannister Federal Complex (BFC) in south central Kansas City to a lease location at Two Pershing Square in the Central Business District. GSA will occupy significantly less space and improve its operation by leveraging the use of mobile technologies, reducing storage needs through digitization, and capturing underutilized space through desk-sharing. GSA's goal is to create a highly utilized, open-plan, activity-based workplace that can accommodate collaborative and focus work in a variety of settings. GSA is relocating all tenants from the GSA controlled portion of the BFC, and will transfer its portion of the complex to NNSA, per the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act.
